IHE Delft

IHE Delft Institute for Water Education is the largest international graduate water education facility in the world.

Based in Delft, the Netherlands, IHE Delft confers fully accredited MSc degrees and PhD degrees in collaboration with Dutch partner universities.

Through our work across six academic departments we recognise the value of an interdisciplinary approach to address the world’s water challenges, including river management and its physical processes among the cross-cutting themes.  The six departments are:

  • Water supply and Environmental Engineering
  • Water governance
  • Land and Water management
  • Water resources and ecosystems
  • Coastal and urban risk & resilience
  • Hydroinformatics and socio-technical innovation

Our impact is strengthened by our engagement in partnerships. We foster connections across disciplines and among knowledge centres, public and private sector organizations. Our international staff, many of whom are world-renowned experts in their fields, our diverse and engaged students and our engaged alumni community, make IHE Delft an international and vibrant learning hub – the place where the water world meets to make a difference.
